Take Back the Speculum

July 25, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

$20

We have put together an exciting educational opportunity with Pamela Samuelson of Embody LA. Pamela is an incredible bodyworker in our community. Her work, “Embodywork is a form of embodiment coaching, somatic education and manual therapy which brings together a broad array of teachings and over two decades in practice working with a huge diversity of people.”

Pamela wants to provide her empowering teaching to all, so the event is $20 or Pay what you can. In addition, all of the money will go towards Birthing Justice, to Sister Song – Women of Color Birthing Justice Collective. To find out more about this incredible organization, please click the following link https://www.sistersong.net.

Take back the speculum is sex ed for grown-ass people. It is essential that as doulas we are educated and comfortable with our external and internal anatomy. This event will introduce you to the vulva like you’re meeting for the first time. It is for every woman and every person with internal anatomy.

You do not need to participate in the self cervical exam, this is only one part of this 3 hour event. However, if you are interested, you can purchase a speculum here: https://www.preciousarrows.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=Speculum&Search.x=0&Search.y=0 OR anywhere speculums are sold. If you sign up quickly, DASC will be making an order and we can arrange for you to pick one up from us.

We are dedicated to rebuilding our community and we are looking forward to seeing you at this event and at all of the exciting events we have planned for the next few months.

All love,
The DASC board
